Playa Tenacatita

Central Pacific Coast

On the palm-fringed Bahía Tenacatita, Playa Tenacatita has clear snorkeling waters and a large mangrove lagoon with good bird-watching. There is a land title in dispute here, with a development group in the process of trying to build on and partly privatize an otherwise public and relatively undeveloped beach. You can still visit, but camping is no longer allowed.
