If you’re looking to start off the new year with a mixture of travel and healthy eating, Contiki has announced the new Vegan Food Europe Explorer tour, which takes guests on an eight-day gastronomic journey from Berlin to Budapest.
Guided by experts on all things plant-based - @thelittlelondonvegan and @laurafruitfairy – the tour will take travellers on a vegan odyssey around some of Europe’s top food cities such as Prague, Berlin, Vienna, Dresden and Budapest, with some extra stops along the way. Taking place from 16 – 23 August, experiences include a vegan cooking class in Budapest, a private plant-based dinner with locals in Berlin (as well as an interactive food tour), and a dinner cruise along the Danube river.
Guests will also take part in a locally-guided bike tour in Prague and a classical music concert in Vienna, as well as walking tours and wellness excursions such as morning yoga classes and a soak in the famous Széchenyi traditional thermal baths in Budapest.
“Food and travel go hand in hand and it can be a challenge for those practising veganism to have the chance to experience local delicacies in certain parts of the world. As a result, we’ve seen a big increase in queries from travellers about where to find the best vegan eateries. A dedicated vegan trip has long been a dream itinerary for us and we look forward to welcoming travellers on to this culinary adventure,” said Donna Jeavons, director of sales and marketing at Contiki UK. Vegan content creators @thelittlelondonvegan and @laurafruitfairy will also share their knowledge with the group on how to travel on a plant-based diet.
Accommodation is included, as are bespoke vegan breakfasts. The experience starts from €1579.
