Getting around by air

Suriname has a fairly good network of flights for a country of its size, with regular connections to elsewhere in the region, the Caribbean and Amsterdam.

Airports & Airlines

Long-haul international flights arrive at Suriname's outdated Johan Pengel International Airport (more often called Zanderij), while domestic and regional international flights arrive mostly at the similarly poor Zorg-en-Hoop Airport, close to Paramaribo.

Caribbean Airlines Connects Paramaribo to various Caribbean islands.

Insel Air Service to Curaçao with connections to other Caribbean islands.

KLM Four direct flights to Amsterdam per week.

Surinam Airways Flies to many destinations, including Georgetown (Guyana), Cayenne (French Guiana), Port of Spain (Trinidad), Curaçao, Aruba, Belem (Brazil), Miami and Amsterdam.

Departure Tax

Suriname's departure tax is US$66 and is usually included in ticket prices.
