Nirvana Resort

Gansu

On the cusp of opening at the time of writing, these lovely all-rustic, all-wood 60-sq-metre chalets (a dozen in all), operated by the folk at the Nirvana Restaurant in Xiahe, are positioned with large windows looking out onto the expansive grasslands and overlooking a river. Each chalet features running water and a bar-restaurant is at hand. Transport can be arranged.

There is one larger family chalet if you need a bit more space. Each chalet has its own terrace for total relaxation and musing on the landscape.
