Easily the most spectacular cafe in Montréal, Crew converted the old Royal Bank into a caffeine and laptop powerhouse. Order from a teller, then sip green tea and good lattes at a gilded deposit-slip (remember those?) and gaze way up at the ornate ceiling laden with chandeliers. It's worth popping in just to have a gander, especially for architecture and interior-design fans.

There are sofas and nooks galore to crunch numbers or chat and eat a smoked-salmon bagel.
