The main restaurant at the Israel Museum is as swanky as its setting demands, with a refined array of dishes: artichoke sofrito, stuffed ravioli and chicken kadaif (thin Turkish noodles) so elaborately presented that it could grace a Jackson Pollock canvas. Local flavours are given an unexpected twist (Israeli tapas, beef and apricot kebabs), and it's all served with bread straight from the oven.
Modern mostly serves lunch, though on Tuesday night the chef rolls up his sleeves to create experimental new dishes right up until the last customer leaves.
