Liselund Ny Slot

Top choice in Møn

For sheer romance, the idea of slumbering in a 19th-century chateau is hard to beat, and waking up to glimpses of Liselund's majestic park is a delight. But beyond the elegant restaurant, don't expect too much indulgence. The 17 rooms are pleasant but relatively simple, with wooden floorboards, inserted toilet-shower booths and neither kettle nor fridge. Beds are very comfortable.

Room sizes vary from small, rather dark 212 and 213 to airy 219 with a desk in the window. The two half-timbered interconnecting suites (227, 228) are superbly bright and spacious but with smaller windows. Complete with birdlife murals, unique room 226 is small but tucked into the spired tower. Below that is a 'secret' library/sitting room for all guests, and there's also a pair of communal balconies, some enchanting lawn seating and a panel-walled lounge area attached to the restaurant. October to March, bargain half-board deals start at 1299kr.
