Liverpool's main place to stay, this rambling, old-school inn on the main road through town was once the residence of a Liverpudlian privateer. Rooms are large; the best have wooden floors and attractive artwork, but the budget ones look very dated. Downstairs are a coffee shop and restaurant (mains $18 to $25). There's lots of parking next to the inn.
