Stone Boat Cafe

Beijing

A pondside pavilion in the form of an ornamental boat, this is a delightfully eclectic nook to savour a pot of Chinese tea or a beer, and see the skyscrapers peeping over Ritan Park's willows. Known as fǎng, these 'boats' were a motif of Chinese garden design and a place to entertain – the most famous being the Marble Boat in the Summer Palace.

If you fancy a glass of wine, you might want to order two – the pour is a miserly 100ml.
