Grešna Gorica

Zagorje

This rustic eatery, often overtaken by day-tripping families from Zagreb on weekends, is a tad gimmicky but great for kids, with farm animals roaming around, a playground and lots of open space. Adults will appreciate the countryside views and the well-prepared Zagorje staples, such as štrukli (dumplings with cottage cheese) and srneći gulaš (venison goulash).

The restaurant can be found about 2km east of Veliki Tabor; a marked trail leads from the back of the castle to the restaurant (40 minutes on foot).
