Staying within the castle is a delight if you want to revel in the historical atmosphere. Rooms are better than at many HPTDC-managed properties but can still feel a tad spartan.
Prices depend mainly on room size and views (which are superb from some rooms). They rise ₹1000 in May and June but drop 25% in winter and during monsoon. The affordable restaurant has fine terrace views overlooking the valley and opens year-round.
