Welcoming and popular with surfers but rather unkempt at last visit, this beachside spot offers spartan rooms in thatched multilevel wooden cabañas (cabins), with hammocks on the porch (cabins six and seven are the best). There are also dorms, camping sites and a circular palapa restaurant.
Playa La Ticla is best reached by car. Alternatively, take a southbound bus from Tecomán and get off in Placita de Morelos, 14.5km north of La Ticla. From there, you can take a taxi or make arrangements with the Parador to get picked up.
