Mucha-an

Shinjuku & Northwest Tokyo

Mucha-an is in an old wooden ryokan transported from across town to the gardens at Chinzan-sō. The soba (buckwheat noodles) are made in-house: go for simple mori-soba (cold noodles with dipping sauce on the side) or a full course (from ¥4000) with appetisers and tempura. It's best to reserve on weekends and holidays; there's a 10% service charge.
