Bright Angel Lodge

Top choice in Grand Canyon National Park South Rim

This 1935 log-and-stone historic lodge on the canyon ledge delivers simple charm and the small public spaces bustle with activity. Buckey and Powell Lodge rooms, an excellent choice for budget accommodations, offer bright, handsome and simple rooms (refrigerator, but no TV) only steps from the rim, while rustic Rim Cabins and suites are some of the South Rim's best accommodations.

Cabins 6157 and 6158 offer the quietest views and a gas fireplace, but only the Red Horse Suite has air-conditioning; the rest of Bright Angel rooms are in cabins scattered in the piñon behind the main building.
