Fort Témiscamingue National Historic Site

Both the British and the French fought to dominate the fur trade in what is now Québec during the 17th and 18th centuries. This fort on Lake Temiskaming illustrates life in the late 1800s, when the Hudson Bay Company established a trading post here. You can also learn more about the region's indigenous communities and their relationship with the European traders. There's even an enchanted forest that's the subject of Aboriginal legends.
