Borax Museum

On the grounds of the Ranch at Death Valley, this outdoor museum illustrates Death Valley's connection to borax mining, the most profitable mineral ever extracted here. Behind an 1883 office building relocated from Twenty Mule Team Canyon, you can poke around a jumble of pioneer-era transportation equipment, including an original "Twenty Mule Team" wagon and a steam tractor.
