For something totally different, consider an overnight or longer at this traditional century-old wooden cottage run by local tour guide Teofil Ivanciuc in Valea Cufundoasă, 4km east of Sighetu Marmaţiei. It has three comfortable bedrooms and breakfast is included. The surrounds are idyllic and the location remote – the perfect spot for birdwatching and star-gazing.
