The Danjugan Island Marine Reserve & Sanctuary lies just offshore at this swish resort occupying its own kilometre of golden sand. Designed by its architect-owner, the main complex is an attractive modern-Asian style with local touches. The wide variety of accommodation runs the gamut from enormous rooms in a semi-courtyard to beach cabanas with huge beds and indoor-outdoor bathrooms.

The resort is 3km down a dirt track from the little town of Bulata.
