Run by the very upmarket Asilia group, this is a wonderful lakeside perch with stunning safari tents. Well, we say tents, but these 'tents' have three solid walls, fine furnishings, bathrooms to splash in and deliciously comfortable beds. There's a restaurant area hanging onto a low cliff with lake views.
Activities on offer include chimp walks (for the moment you're very, very unlikely to see the chimps but you'll certainly see their night nests and other clues to their presence), birdwatching trips and fishing. Game drives can also be arranged, but they're not the best way to see the island.
