The capital of Goiás, Goiânia is the region's other planned city, predating Brasília by almost 30 years. Designed by urbanist Armando de Godói and founded in 1933, it's a pleasant enough combination of parks, leafy avenues and high-rise buildings laid out around circular streets. There's not much to see here, but it's a major transport nexus and if you're touring the state, you’ll inevitably find yourself passing through more than once.
