Named after Houston's founders, Allen's Landing marks the spot on Buffalo Bayou where Houston's settlement began. So far the original wharf has been improved with concrete paths and grassy lawns that offer great walking and views. Check with Bayou City Adventures for kayak tours that take in the downtown sights.
