Tsunami Photo Museum

This ramshackle private museum 3.5km north of Hikkaduwa tells the story of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami through photographs, newspaper articles and heart-rending handwritten notes from those affected, including the owners' family. The displays are rather chaotic, and at times graphic and horrifying, but powerfully moving. Opening hours can be variable.
