Welcome to Maó

Built atop the cliffs that line its harbour’s southern shore, Maó is a bright, breezy, easy-going place, with a characterful, colourful historic core that's a delight to explore. Although some older buildings still stand, the majority of its architecture is in the restrained 18th-century Georgian style (note the sash windows and, as Menorcans say to this day, boínders – bow windows).
