These stables and porter’s lodge were designed by Gaudí for the Finca Güell, as the Güell estate here was called. The structures here were built between 1884 and 1887, when Gaudí was strongly impressed by Islamic architecture. You can peer inside on guided visits, with English-language tours at 10.15am, 11.15pm and 3pm. Unexpected closures can occur, so confirm opening hours before heading out.
One of the most eye-catching features is the fantastical wrought-iron dragon gate near Avinguda de Pedralbes.
