Welcome to Albacete
This mildly down-at-heel provincial city is no star but is a useful transport hub for the region. If you do find yourself here with time to kill, the city has a lively free tapas scene; the central Pasaje Lodares (1925), a lovely Modernista shopping arcade; and two interesting museums. The Museo Arqueológico has a famous collection of Roman ivory, while the Museo de la Cuchillería, the knife museum, is probably not as interesting as the building that hosts it.
Otherwise, we suggest that you keep right on going, something made easier with the ample bus and train connections from the adjacent bus and train stations at the northeastern end of town.
