The enormous Beneficència complex, once a convent, holds two large, interesting museums which are entered on a single ticket.
The Museo de Prehistoria de Valencia is an archaeological museum with some excellent pieces and loads of interesting information, but pick and choose or you'll be overwhelmed by the rows of flint tools and potsherds. It's strongest on the Roman era and pre-Roman Iberian culture.
The Museo de Etnología presents a livelier display focusing on more up-to-date display focusing on Valencian life since the industrial age began. It's divided into three sections: the city, the huerta (irrigated farmlands) and wetlands, and the dry lands and mountains.
Info in the museums is mostly in English. The complex also hosts concerts and some interesting temporary exhibitions, and has a courtyard cafe.
