Monument to the People's Heroes

Up from Huangpu Park, this anachronistic monument stands above the Bund History Museum. Its socialist realism friezes depict the postwar triumphs of communism in Shanghai. Come here early in the morning for excellent photo ops as locals perform taichi to the backdrop of Pudong's skyline.
