Ski Tour Holiday in Montenegro, Kosovo and Albania

Day 1. Podgorica Airport – Kolašin You will be met by a guide when you land in Montenegro. Next, you will be transferred to Kolašin, a small town in Northern Montenegro.  Overnight in Kolašin.Day 2. Kolašin – Rozaje We will explore the area around Kolašin as we ski from Kolašin to Bojiste and back. This trail is 8 kilometres long and will take us around five hours. The total ascent and descent is +/- 200m. In the afternoon we will leave the hotel in Kolašin and will drive toward the city of Rožaje about 100 km away from Kolašin, where we will spend the night.Day 3. Rožaje – Hajla We will ski from Rožaje at an altitude of 1045 m up to Mountain Cabin “Grope” at 1900 m. This 10km long trail will take us around 6-7 hours. We will spend the night in the cabin so we are situated well for the next day's skiing. Day 4. Hajla – Pejë After a wonderful day skiing from Grope Mountain Cabin, we will ski back down to the city of Rožaje from where we will depart for the city of Peja in Kosovo. We will reach Peja in the afternoon and stay the night in the city centre. It will take us about 1.5 hours to reach the city.Day 5. Pejë – Bogë We will be leave for the village of Bogë and from there start skiing toward Haile Mountain. On the way to Bogë, we will travel through Rugova Gorge which is about 25 km in length and about 1,000 meters deep. Rugova gorge is considered one of the longest and deepest canyons in Europe. We will stay the night in the village of Bogë.Day 6. Bogë – Deçan – TropojëIn the morning we will visit one of the largest and most beautifully preserved medieval churches in the Balkans. After that, we will drive to the border village of Koshare. We will switch to skis, then cross the border into Albania. In the afternoon we will reach the small Albanian village of Tropoja where we will stay the night in a small guest house.Day 7. Tropojë – Valbonë  We will be transferred for about 1 hour from the village to Valbona National Park. The peaks surrounding Valbona Valley range from 2500 m and up so the view will be marvelous.   On a clear day we can see the Peak of Jezerca Mountain which, at 2642m high, is the highest mountain in Northern Albania.Day 8. Valbonë We will spend another beautiful day in Valbona Valley.  Overnight: Margjeka HotelDay 9. Valbonë – Prizren – Kruje We will leave the valley and travel to the city of Prizren in Kosovo. After the visit and lunch in Prizren we will resume driving toward the city of Kruja in Albania where we will spend the night.Day 10. Krujë – Tirana Airport Before our departure from Krujë we will visit Kruja bazaar and the Ethnographic museum. After this, we will transfer to the Tirana Airport where our tour will end.

Snowshoeing in Montenegro, Kosovo and Albania

Day 1. Podgorica Airport – Kolašin Arrive in Podgorica Airport and meet the group. We will then be transferred to Kolašin, a small town in Northern Montenegro. Kolasin is located at the altitude of 954 m and offers excellent snowshoeing opportunities during the winter season.  Dinner will be served at the hotel.Day 2. Kolašin – Rozaje In the morning morning we will explore the area around Kolašin as we snowshoe from Kolašin (954 m) to Bojiste at an altitude of 1200 m and back. This 8 kilometer walk will take us around five hours. The total altitude change is +/- 200m. In the afternoon we will leave the hotel in Kolašin and will drive the 2.5 hours toward the city of Rožaje where we will spend the night.Day 3. Rožaje – Hajle   After a 6-7 hour hike from Rožaje at an altitude of 1045 m up the Haile Mountain, we will arrive at the 1900m mountain cabin where we will spend the night. Day 4. Hajle – Pejë After a wonderful evening and morning in Grope Mountain Cabin, we will snowshoe back down to the city of Rožaje and drive the 1.5 hours toward the city of Peja in Kosovo. We will reach Peja in the afternoon and be accommodated in the city centre.Day 5. Pejë – Bogë  We will be transferred to the village of Bogë and from there will drive through Rugova Gorge which is about 25 km in length and about 1,000 meters deep. We will return in the afternoon and spend the night in the village of Boge.Day 6. Bogë – Deçan – Koshare – Tropojë From Bogë we drive back toward Albania where we will cross the border by snowshoe. Before the border however, we will visit the UNESCO-protected Monastery of Decani.  In the afternoon we will reach the small village of Tropoja on the Albanian side. There we will stay in the quaint Aste Guesthouse. This is a small guesthouse so the rooms will be shared.Day 7. Tropojë – Valbonë We will be transferred from the village to Valbona National Park.  We will make a loop near the ridge of White Circle and return to the village of Kukaj. We will spend the night in Valbonë.Day 8. Valbonë Another beautiful day spent in Valbona Valley. Day 9. Valbonë – Bajram Curri – Prizren – Kruje In the morning we will leave the valley and travel to the city of Prizren in Kosovo. After the visit and lunch in Prizren we will resume driving toward the city of Kruja in Albania where we will spend the night.Day 10. Krujë – Tiranë – Tirana Airport  Today before our departure to Tirana Airport we will visit Kruja bazaar and the ethnographic museum. Kruja was the most important town for the Albanians during the 15th century and it still preserves it’s ottoman look, especially in the bazaar area. We will then transfer to the airport where our tour will conclude.

Afterwards proceed to Struga famous for its wall of water where the Black Drin River flows out of Lake Ohrid on its way to the Adriatic.Day 7We visit St. Sofia Church, a classic Orthodox Byzantine church, dominating the Old Town, demonstrates the link between Byzantine and Italian Renaissance art. Other visits include: Saint Painteleimon Church, The Holy Virgin of Peribleptos Church, Icon Gallery, and old Bazaar.Day 8: Drive to Stobi, archaeological site in Macedonia. Afterwards depart for Skopje. Visit the old Turkish bazaar, Mahmut Pasha Hammam, the memorial house of Mother Teresa, stone bridge and the Macedonia Plaza.Day 9: Visiting wonderful Gadima Cave. Next visit the 1389 Kosovo Battlefield and Sultan Murat’s grave. Visit Gracanica. Visit Ulpiana.Day 10: Visit Prizren, a true open air museum, one of the most beautiful towns of Kosovo. Rahoveci renowned wines; afterwards head towards Peja.Day 11: Drive to North West Kosovo and Montenegro takes us to Kolašin which is Montenegro's most famous ski resort, and its capital Podgorica. Day 12: Visit The Old City of Kotor. Cetinje is a town of immense historical heritage, founded in the 15th century. Day 13: On the way stop for a photo at Sveti Stefan. Afterwards proceed to Shkodra centre of Roman Catholicism in Albania. Overnight in Tirana.Day 14: Tirana-Airport
