Welcome to Kolašin
Sitting 960m above sea level, Kolašin (Колашин; pronounced ‘ko-la-shin’) is Montenegro’s main mountain resort. Although the skiing’s not as reliable as in Durmitor, Kolašin’s much easier to get to (it’s just off the main highway, 71km north of Podgorica) and has ritzier accommodation offerings. Like most ski towns, it looks far prettier under a blanket of snow, but even in summer it’s a handy base for exploring Biogradska Gora National Park or other parts of the Bjelasica Mountains.
Most things of interest, including banks and a post office, are set around the two central squares (Trg Borca and Trg Vukmana Kruščića) and the short street that connects them (Ulica IV Proleterske).
