This fascinating collection of scientific specimens and rarities is drawn from the collection of the University of Tokyo (a prestigious university). Just as beguiling as the 19th-century botanical illustrations and taxidermy onagadori (an ornamental chicken with a fantastically long tail that was in vogue in the 17th century) is the museum's design, which looks to have been inspired by Victorian-era cabinets of curiosities.
