Chiesa di San Giovenale

Orvieto

This tufa-brick church at the western end of town is one of Orvieto's oldest, dating from 1004. A solemn example of Romanesque-Gothic architecture, it boasts some wonderful 12th to 15th-century frescoes and a notable marble altar from 1170.

In front of the church, you can enjoy expansive views of the countryside from the town walls.
