Lapangan Banteng

Just east of Merdeka Square, Lapangan Banteng is surrounded by some of Jakarta’s best colonial architecture. It was first designed by the Dutch in the early 19th century, when it was called Waterlooplein. It has basketball courts, football pitches and a children's play area.
