Musée National Eugène Delacroix

Museum in St-Germain & Les Invalides

In a courtyard off a pretty tree-shaded square, this museum is housed in the romantic artist’s home and studio at the time of his death in 1863. It contains a collection of his oil paintings, watercolours, pastels and drawings, including many of his more intimate works, such as An Unmade Bed (1828) and his paintings of Morocco. A ticket from the Musée du Louvre allows same-day entry here (you can also buy tickets here and skip the Louvre's ticket queues).

As well as the Musée du Louvre, you can see Delacroix’s works at the Musée d’Orsay and frescoes at Église St-Sulpice.
