Welcome to Albertville
Albertville serves travellers to the Alps mainly as a junction, en route from Annecy and Chambéry to the ski fields of Chamonix-Mont Blanc and Les Trois Vallées. Not the most inspiring town, its main claim to fame is that it hosted the 1992 Winter Olympics. The story of this defining moment, still an enormous point of pride in Albertville, is colourfully retold at the Maison des Jeux Olympiques d’Hiver. East of here, there are glimpses of medieval charm in Albertville's Cité de Conflans.
