Kaštela is now a municipality in its own right, incorporating seven separate little harbour towns, each named after a castle, which together form the second-largest settlement in Split-Dalmatia County. Running from Split to Trogir, they are Kaštel Sućurac, Kaštel Gomilica, Kaštel Kambelovac, Kaštel Lukšić, Kaštel Stari, Kaštel Novi and Kaštel Štafilić.

Half-Day Split Sea Kayak Adventure

Meeting point is in Split downtown. It is only 200 meters east of harbor and old palace, and 20 meters from Luxe hotel. From here, we will provide you vehicle transfer to the starting point of the tour, Bene beach.Bene beach is located on beautiful Marjan hill, only 10 minutes drive away from Split downtown. Here, you will have briefing on kayaking equipment, technique and safety.You will enter your kayak here and start your small adventure by paddling west, following the beautiful shadow of Marjan hill, the peninsula in the center of the town almost completely surrounded by the sea. This beautiful hill is 178 meters high and is completely covered by the dense pine forest. The beautiful reflection of the hill and the forest on the water surface will follow us all the way. From here, you will enjoy the Kaštela channel, 7 villages of Kaštela on the north with Kozjak hill above them, and the 1300 meter high Mosor hill, “the keeper” of Split. On the west, the island of Čiovo will be on our horizon. After reaching Marjan cape, you will pass the hydrographic institute, located on the most beautiful part of the town built in classical Mediterranean style. From this point you will be paddling east, enjoying the south shore of Marjan. You will be passing by fascinating pyramid rocks, where you will have a short refreshment and swim break. Afterwards, you are passing by Kašjuni beach and enjoy the view on the most beautiful part of Marjan hill on the north and the islands Šolta and Brač further south. Further east, you will be passing by Villa Dalmatia, the old resort of former Yugoslav president Tito, where he hosted numerous world celebrities and politicians. Here, you will make turn and head back to one of the tour highlights: cliff jumping break!Cliff jumping break will give you a chance to try yourself in pushing the limit of your adrenaline. Split wine tour-indigenous sorts of Kastela region

Croatia is not just one of the oldest wine regions on the planet, it’s also one of the most diverse. We have more than 150 indigenous grape sorts and Kastela region near Split has 11. According to the old Church documents family Kuzmanic started producing wines 300 years ago, especially ancient Dalmatian sorts Glavinusa, Babica and Tribljan (ONE NOT AVAILABLE ELSEWHERE). Their cellar located on the slopes of mountain Kozjak is a 120 years old stone house offering fantastic views of the nearby islands. It was also used during a construction of the local railway as a gun powder magazine. We’ll have time to try all their award winning sorts accompanied by traditional Dalmatian snacks and take a stroll to the nearby Biblical Garden

8-Day Dalmatia Home of Zinfandel Grape Tour from Split

Day 1:After arriving at Split airport, you will be transferred to your hotel and enjoy a welcome dinner. Day 2:After early breakfast you will meet your tour guide and start your wine tour with visit to Kaštela nearby Split – home of old, almost forgotten, authentic wine sort, Crljenak. The importance of this sort lies in the fact that it is a parent to widely known and respected Zinfandel and Italian Primitivo. During the visit to Kaštela vineyards and cellars you will be introduced to the history of Croatia wine making. Day 3:After a short catamaran trip you will continue the tour on the island of Hvar, home to the most well known wine of Dalmatia, Plavac Mali, a cross between ancestral Zinfandel, Crljenak Kaštelanski, and Dobričić grapes. This wine truly reflects the character of Dalmatia – hot, temperamental, gorgeous, sharp, slightly rustic and absolutely unique. Overnight stay on Hvar island. Day 4:After breakfast, meet up with your tour leader and continue your adventure on the streets of Hvar. Today, it is center of island’s tourism and one of the favorite destinations in Dalmatian riviera. After walking tour of the city, afternoon will be at leisure while the return to Split is planned by evening ferry. Day 5:In the morning you can enjoy guided private tour of Split old town. 1700 years old Diocletian palace, one of the best preserved roman residences in the world. St Duje Cathedral, Jupiter’s Temple, green market are only several places that you will visit during the tour. The tour will end in Paradox, Dalmatia’s finest Wine & Cheese Bar, set in the heart of old town of Split. Wine & Cheese Bar Paradox offers a comprehensive wine list featuring some of the best wines from Dalmatia & Croatia as well as unique selection of cheeses. Day 6:Continue your adventure on the island of Brač and its vineyards. Brač is the largest island in Dalmatia, just off the coast of Split. In landscape, Brač is similar to its well known neighbor Hvar with its rolling hills, pine and fig trees, isolate bays and clear water. Brač is famous for its wines, the most famous being Bolski Plavac. After the wine tasting, lunch with a variety of traditional Dalmatian dishes and some of the best wines will be served in one of the Brač taverns. Return to Split is planned in the evening. Day 7:To round up your experience of Dalmatia, a visit to Klis Ethno Village is organized. This extremely attractive destination for both local and foreign tourists is surrounded by mountains and untouched nature in the close vicinity of Split. There will be a culinary workshop with your own personal chef who will teach you how to prepare some of the most famous traditional Dalmatian dishes using homemade ingredients. Day 8:Departure day
