Vancouver Maritime Museum

Museum in Kitsilano & University of British Columbia

Alongside dozens of intricate models, salty seafaring displays and a collection of historic vessels, the prize exhibit at this waterfront A-frame museum is the St Roch, a 1928 Royal Canadian Mounted Police Arctic patrol boat that was the first to navigate the legendary Northwest Passage in both directions. Look out for the museum's ever-changing roster of temporary exhibitions as well.

Save time to check out the vessels outside the museum building, including the Ben Franklin, a NASA undersea research vessel that looks a little like the Beatles' Yellow Submarine.
