Séamas O'Reilly is a writer from Derry. Alongside weekly columns in The Irish Examiner and Observer Magazine, he is also Features Editor of The Fence and has written for The New York Times, The Guardian, Irish Times, VICE, and New Statesman. His first book, Did Ye Hear Mammy Died, was awarded the Irish Book Award for Best Biography in 2021. He has reviewed yoga retreats in Fermangah and city breaks to Oslo for the Guardian, child-friendly hotels and five star spas for The Observer Magazine, and arts festivals and dolphin spotting beauty spots for The Fence. He currently lives in Walthamstow, London with his wife, two kids, and their numerous TV subscription packages.
