Tourism Thailand’s ‘promotional’ video goes viral

A YouTube video using a counterintuitive strategy to attract tourists to Thailand has drawn over 1.5million viewers within days of being posted online by the Tourism Authority of Thailand. The five-minute ‘I hate Thailand’ video stars a British backpacker named James, who changes his negative view about Thailand after locals help him to find his missing bag. Tourism officials claimed the ‘romantic-comedy short film’ was designed to showcase Thai hospitality. Read more: skift.com
