Winter is approaching, bringing the ski season with it, and one ski school in Switzerland is looking to make sure their slopes are in perfect condition by hiring a dedicated tester.
US ski resorts implement new rules for skiing in 2020
The Altitude Ski School is located in Verbier, in the ski area of the Four Valleys, and ahead of the new ski season they are looking to hire an official “slope tester”.
The slope tester will have to ski down a number of different slopes, from beginner to expert level, and check “the quality of the snow, the variety of routes and of course, how fast you can ski down them,” as it reads in the job’s official listing.
Since Altitude Ski School has eight different locations, the selected tester will be able to choose where to do their testing – from Zermatt, sitting right under the Matterhorn, to Wengen, with the famous Lauberhorn slope also known as the longest on the World Cup circuit.
Applicants for the job must be at least eighteen years old, be pretty confident on skis and enjoy working in a beautiful and natural environment. And, according to the job listing, “it certainly helps to love Swiss cheese and chocolate, although maybe not together!”
To apply, all you need to do is fill out a form on Altitude Ski School’s official website – you can do so until January 4, and the winner will be picked randomly and announced the day after.
The selected winner will be able to choose either a day pass or a two-hour private lesson with an instructor to test the slopes at any of the Altitude Ski School locations in the Swiss Alps. To read more about this opportunity and apply, you can check out the official listing here.
