At 1934m, Jebel Jais is the highest peak in the UAE and is even occasionally dusted with snow. Since 2015 a mountain road has corkscrewed almost to the top, delivering great visual drama of artistically eroded cliffs, deep canyons and warped escarpments around every bend. There are plenty of pullouts with toilets but no other facilities (yet), so bring liquids and a snack.
The total drive is about 50km from the roundabout connecting Khuzam and Al Rams Rd in RAK City.
