Overlooking an attractive bay on the northern shore of the Sea of Marmara, Tekirdağ features a bustling waterfront area complete with parks, playgrounds and çay bahçesis. Though definitely not worth a trip in itself, the waterfront and a scattering of timber houses dating from the 18th century make the town a reasonable pit stop en route to/from Greece or the Gallipoli Peninsula.
