Carmen de los Mártires

A peaceful oasis on the hillside south of the Alhambra, these romantically dishevelled gardens sprawl around a restored 19th-century mansion, with uplifting views of the city and surrounding mountains. Over the years the site has hosted a prison, a chapel, a convent and more; today it's a great spot to escape the crowds.
