Bomonti beer was once produced in this castle-like factory located in the suburb of the same name (the beer is now an Efes brand produced elsewhere). Now reimagined as the Bomontiada, an arts, music and entertainment hub, the factory's most famous tenant is Babylon Bomonti (babylon.com.tr), İstanbul's pre-eminent live-music venue.
The factory's courtyard is home to a number of popular bars and eateries, including The Populist brewpub (noon-midnight Sun-Thu, to 1am Fri & Sat), which offers a range of craft beers produced by Torch Brewery and live music or DJs on weekends. Other tenants include two small art galleries: the Ara Güler Museum (aragulermuzesi.com; free), closed Monday and named after the well-known Turkish photographer; and Yapi Kredi Bomontiada, also a performance space. The factory is a 15-minute walk from the Osmanbey metro station.
