Old City Palace

Eastern Rajasthan

The mainly 17th-century old city palace was constructed over different periods; the oldest part has existed for 600 years. Occupied by the Karauli royal family until around the 1940s, the palace is rundown and worn, but there are ongoing restorations and it's very atmospheric. It’s worth tipping the guard to get them to guide you. There’s a Krishna temple in the compound.
