This sanctuary overflows with the "aah" factor. Its 26 hectares are home to bounding, noisy colonies of chimpanzees, orangutans, gibbons, marmosets and some ridiculously cute ring-tailed lemurs. Most have been rescued from primate smuggling rings, circuses, laboratories, working on beaches, or being mistreated as pets. Entry may be by booked time slots only; the website has updates.
The sanctuary is near Wool, 5 miles west of Wareham.
