Right beside the CN Tower, the sprawling Ripley's Aquarium of Canada (ripleys.com; adult/child $46/30) dazzles visitors of all ages with thousands of underwater species in creatively designed tanks. After admiring the enormous humpback-whale skeleton suspended above the atrium, descend through sections devoted to Canadian water landscapes, rainbow reefs and eerily lit jellyfish tanks. The big star is a glass-encased walk-through tunnel (with a slowly moving walkway) where sharks, rays and sea turtles swoop overhead. Sidestep the bulk of the aquarium's crowds by visiting outside the 11am to 2pm (4pm on weekends) rush.
