Rio's Museu do Amanhã (Museum of Tomorrow; museudoamanha.org.br; 11am-6pm Tue-Sun, R$30 timed entry, online reservations recommended) is an interactive science museum that raises the question: what will our world look like 50 years from now? Designed by famed Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, this thoughtfully conceived science museum has interactive exhibitions on outer space, the earth and its biodiversity, humans (and our impact on the world), and the major global trends and challenges that lie in the future.
The jewel of the renovated Praça Mauá, the museum's extraordinary structure is covered in photovoltaic panels and was LEED certified by the Green Building Council. The space also hosts numerous events, concerts and parties on its grounds, which are very worth visiting.
