I've been wandering around the world for 25 years writing guidebooks for Lonely Planet and surviving as a 'freelance anything' - I like to think that I'm 'versatile.' Studied Japanese and business; married to Yuriko, originally from Osaka. We spend a fair bit of our time in Japan, but are based most of the year in beautiful Queenstown, NZ.
