Sand Harbor State Park

Two sand spits have formed a shallow bay here, with brilliant, warm turquoise water and white, boulder-strewn beaches. There's also a visitor center with exhibits about the lake, a seasonal restaurant, and sodas and snacks year-round. The park gets very busy, especially during July and August, when the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival is underway.

Parking reservations are required between May and October
