Pamir Botanical Gardens

One of the world's highest botanical gardens, this attractively flower-filled arboretum affords excellent views over Khorog. There's a mix of mature trees and regionally occurring plants, along with a hotel for those wishing to enjoy the location's oasis-like quality. A taxi from the city centre (5km) costs around 15TJS. You could reach the lower gate by marshrutka 3, but from there it's a steep, unshaded 45-minute climb to the gardens themselves.
