Museu Municipal Dr Santos Rocha

The Beiras

This modern museum, beside the Parque das Abadias, houses a wonderfully eclectic collection of local archaeological finds, Roman coins, medieval statues, outlandish Indo-Portuguese furniture, objects documenting Portugal’s early African explorations and weapons from across the ages.

At the time of research, parts of the museum were closed for building work and admission was free.
